Time of Use

In order to benefit from Time of Use you MUST be able to coordinate most of your electric usage during the Off-Peak Hours. This means using your major appliances such as Electric Thermal Storage Heating Units, baseboard heating (if possible), electric clothes dryers, electric ovens, irons, compressors, power tools, etc. during the Off-Peak hours. Also placing timers on electric appliances like water heaters, hot tubs, saunas and freezers to only use power during Off-Peak hours will help. Any appliance you can operate during the Off-Peak hours will lower your electric utility bill. Please use the time of use charts below for schedule of On Peak and Off Peak rates.

Heater definitions for 2100 series display for ETS units

Main display:

C-Charge = Off Peak and P-Peak = On Peak. The display should coincide with the Time of Use rate schedule On and Off Peak times.
- underline after the C denotes that the elements are on. 00 number displayed is the room temperature.

Desired Temp:

00 number displayed after pressing the up ↑ arrow or down ↓ arrow once is the desired temperature. Making the desired temperature higher than the room temperature will cause the fan to blow until the room temperature is the same as the desired temperature.

Percent of the heat stored by the bricks during Off Peak hours. This can be changed by pressing the M button until "Core" displays. It then cycles to a number that represents the percentage of heat storage the heater is set at. During the colder months core should be set close to or at 100% so that there is enough heat stored for On Peak hours
